Matrix Layout 2.01 Copyright © 1989 Matrix Software Nearly impossible to find today on its original media, this is an early version of Matrix Layout by the developer's original name. An object-oriented programming language, Matrix Layout uses a flowcharting approach to programming. "Blackboxes," pre-defined code routines, are combined to create programs instead of writing code. Matrix Layout creates database programs using "card" forms and having a mouse-driven graphical user interface with pull-down menus, fonts, on-line help and other features. It has a desktop which is an icon-based window to launch the flowcharting utility, paint program, blackbox manager, HelpMaker, Print Help Files, Convert Files, Control Panel, Font Manager, calculator, calendar, Exploring Layout, Video Tapes sample program, and Layout Tutorial. Flowcharts are compiled into executable programs. Matrix Layout also includes flowchart converters to convert Layout flowcharts into Lattice C, Microsoft C, QuickBasic, Turbo C, or Turbo Pascal source code.
